  • What do you ACTUALLY do?

    I lead a team responsible for the Enterprise cloud infrastructure, Enterprise networking, video streaming infrastructure (which includes operation, delivery, and quality), and client endpoint management. I also work on new construction build outs and the discovery and selection of new technologies for the organization in order to deliver the best technology solutions.

  • What types of devices do you support?

    Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, Chrome, everything!

  • What's your favorite piece of tech?

    iPhone.

  • What tools or apps are most important to your job?

    iTerm, VScode, Slack, G Suite

  • Do you prefer hands-on, or troubleshooting from afar?

    I am a visual person so I prefer hands on but when needed I can make it work from afar.

  • Favorite thing about your IT environment?

    The process of automating a repetitive task and always working to find the right solution, not the fastest to deploy or the cheapest.

  • Thing you'd most like to change about it?

    The culture that we have built in society of instant gratification it takes time to fix problems and build solutions there is no app for certain things.

  • How did you start your career in IT?

    At the age of 13 I did some community service in high school, working with the person responsible for the technology there. When I turned 14 I was working for the school part time and during the summer helping them maintain their technology stack.

  • What are the biggest misconceptions of your role, internally or externally?

    The full scope of my role.

  • What was your proudest professional moment?

    Hearing from others that my style of working has reshaped how they work and think about problems.

  • What are the biggest challenges in your work?

    Time! We are always looking to deliver new products and services but the reality of how long it takes to go from concept to a full production operations seems difficult for people to grasp because of how long it takes to get it right.

  • Most cringeworthy request?

    Early in my IT career I was asked to replace someone’s keyboard and mouse lets just say that it went to a trashbag, because it was a biohazard!

  • Do you stay hydrated at work?

    Coffee, Water, lacroix, kombucha

  • CLI or GUI?

    It depends on the task.

  • DIY or turnkey?

    Depends on the requirement, sometimes special outcomes require custom solutions.
