Kyle DuBose: Managing workplace infrastructure

An interview with Kyle Dubose, who manages workplace infrastructure at Brandless.

  • What do you ACTUALLY do?

    I do everything from replacing a mouse, troubleshooting an ISP outage, mounting a TV, or overseeing building contractors.

  • What types of devices do you support?

    We’re primarily Mac, but I have a scattering of Chrome and Windows devices.

  • What's your favorite piece of tech?

    That’s tough — iPhone XS, AirPods, or this impressive USB jump drive that has both USB-A and USB-C connectors.

  • What tools or apps are most important to your job?

    Slack and Spoke.

  • Do you prefer hands-on, or troubleshooting from afar?

    Hands-on, hands-down.

  • Favorite thing about your IT environment?

    The people and the mission, Brandless is a fantastic company with incredible values, and it shows that every person here holds our community close to their heart.

  • Thing you'd most like to change about it?

    Speed, as a team of one managing both IT and Facilities people often want things faster than I’m able to provide.
